Jurassic Park is well done on a technical level but is otherwise unremarkable. It begins with an engaging first half, but soon slows down with a ridiculous second and third act.
"A tip: turn your brain off to enjoy"
Not sure why decades later, these people still haven’t figured out why attempting to create, domesticate, and weaponize dinosaurs just doesn’t work out. Jurassic Park/World is a great franchise, but unless writers can figure out a different theme, this has to stop. I’m getting concerned with the level of repetitiveness.
"Did this really need to happen? Like really?
After watching Fallen Kingdom twice, I concluded that this film was completely forced to happen. Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of scenes that were enjoyable throughout the movie! Buuuuuut… they didn’t need to make me cry because of what these poor dinosaurs had to face (THAT BRACHIOSAURUS DID NOT DESERVE THAT). Come on people, weaponizing dinosaurs IS NOT IT and they just really have a hard time leaving nature alone. While it isn't necessarily a flop, I'd just wish it could have gone in a slightly different direction.
"Weaponizing dinosaurs & keeping them as pets? Hmm that can’t be a good idea folks.
Blue saves the day once again! Weaponizing dinosaurs & keeping them as pets? Hmm that can’t be a good idea folks. Overall, I prefer the first. However, there were some aspects of this one I enjoyed more. Scares and visuals, just to name a couple. Also, this one was more serious dialogue wise? Or maybe, the comedy just didn’t land. Of course, there will be a sequel. Lastly, the dinosaur left on the island DID NOT DESERVE 😭
"Just don’t think too much about the plot"
Not the best Jurassic movie but not the worst. If you root for the dinosaurs like I do, you’ll enjoy it.
"Should you skip this movie? Yes."
Jurassic World was a movie that came out in 2015. At the time, it did not resonate with me and I did not have a real desire to revisit it. After seeing Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the first one feels like a classic. Tonal inconsistenties and terrible character decisions leave you scratching your head through the majority of the runtime. Do the dinosaurs look cool? Yes. Do Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt have any chemistry? No. Did I put more thought into this review than the writers put into the script? Probably.
